SAN DIEGO THEME PARKS AND ATTRACTIONS

Whether you come to San Diego to visit or stay, there are so many things to see and do that if you have an empty spot on your calendar, you aren’t looking hard enough. There is so much to see and do that San Diego can put many, if not most places in this country to shame. This is but a very abbreviated list of things to see and do here. Perhaps one of the greatest things about San Diego is that regardless of the park or attraction that you decide to take in, you can bet that it’s not just for kids. You can put a smile on your face and keep it there all day long.

Legoland Calfornia. One of the newest theme parks in California, Legoland is a 128-acre theme park that is built in recognition of that dastardly toy that every adult looks forward to feeling in the sole of his feet at night. Legoland California features more than 60 interactive rides attractions, shows, and other “kid powered” things to do.

San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo is a world-famous and world-class research, and entertainment center focused on animals from around the world. The San Diego Zoo is home to a spectacular number of exhibits and displays such as Ituri Forest, Rainforest Aviary, the Polar Bear Plunge, and much more. You can see numerous types of animals during a three-mile guided bus tour, a sky tram, or a children’s petting zoo and nursery.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park. If seeing animals in an enclosed environment isn’t your thing, perhaps something a little more up close and personal would be more your speed. In that case, you should try the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, a 1,800-acre preserve for animals from Africa and Asia in a habitat that is just like their native homes. Be sure to wear your walking shoes and your sun hats since you will be out in the open to witness animals and so much more in all their glory.

Seaworld San Diego. Feeling fishy? Seaworld San Diego is just the thing for you. Located in glistening Mission Bay, Seaworld has long been a popular attraction for adults and kids alike. You can plant some lifetime memories as you are able to interact with creatures from around the world in behind-the-scenes private enclosures.

USS Midway Museum. As long as you are in San Diego, why not visit a place that helped put the area on the map, like the Navy, and specifically the USS Midway Museum. The Midway was the longest serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. While you are there, you can relive the ship’s nearly 59 years of unique history. Check out the engine room, sleeping quarters, the brig and more by yourself or as part of an organized tour.

Once you have seen so many things in San Diego, you will take comfort knowing that there is so much more you can enjoy within a short drive. There’s Disneyland, the Labra Tar Pits, and so much more.
